This was my first time having this kind of dish, and it was incredibly delicious!
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook pasta until just al dente, drain, and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown sausage slices, then remove and keep warm.
- Add onion to the skillet and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms release their juices.
- Pour in cream and broth. Bring to a simmer, then stir in Parmesan, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Return pasta and sausage to the skillet. Mix well, then transfer everything to a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella on top. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with parsley and serve.
Tips & Variations
- Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Use turkey sausage or add bell peppers for extra color.
- Stir in a handful of spinach before baking for a veggie boost.
- Make ahead: assemble, cover, and refrigerate; bake when ready.
