This was my first time having this kind of dish, and it was incredibly delicious!

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook pasta until just al dente, drain, and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown sausage slices, then remove and keep warm.
  4. Add onion to the skillet and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms release their juices.
  5. Pour in cream and broth. Bring to a simmer, then stir in Parmesan, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Return pasta and sausage to the skillet. Mix well, then transfer everything to a greased baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella on top. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Tips & Variations

  • Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • Use turkey sausage or add bell peppers for extra color.
  • Stir in a handful of spinach before baking for a veggie boost.
  • Make ahead: assemble, cover, and refrigerate; bake when ready.
