This light and fluffy vanilla cake is bursting with fresh strawberry pieces and topped with a creamy, tangy strawberry cream cheese frosting. It’s the perfect dessert for a crowd!

Yields: One 9×13-inch sheet cake or one jelly roll (10×15-inch) sheet cake
Prep time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 2 ½ cups cake flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

  • 5 large egg whites, at room temperature

  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp lemon juice

  • ⅓ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • ½ cup whole milk

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely diced

For the Frosting:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, at room temperature

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

  • 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted

  • 2-3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • ⅔ cup fresh strawberries, very finely diced
