Although the Index can integrate with AI tools in the future, Migicovsky says its core purpose is simplicity. He imagines features like double-clicking the ring to send a recording straight to ChatGPT, and plans to support the Model Context Protocol so the Pebble app can interact with a wide range of services. Still, he stresses the ring is not meant to be a conversational assistant. It’s built to excel at one thing: instant memory capture.
What sets the Index apart from similar AI-driven smart rings is its open-source foundation. Hardware, firmware, and software will all be available for developers to modify. Users will be able to customize input systems, expand capabilities, or adapt the technology into entirely new devices.
Pricing, availability, and how Migicovsky uses it
The Index 01 is available for preorder for $75, with the price rising to $99 after shipments begin in March 2026. It comes in multiple sizes and three colors. Migicovsky says he uses his ring approximately 20 times a day and believes others will adopt similar habits once the tool becomes second nature.
