Recipe: Lemon Lush Trifle

Ingredients

  • 1 package (14 oz) vanilla sandwich cookies (or graham crackers)

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 packages (3.4 oz each) instant lemon pudding mix

  • 3 cups cold milk

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 containers (8 oz each) whipped topping, thawed

  • Optional garnish: lemon slices, zest, or fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cookie Crust – Crush the vanilla sandwich cookies into fine crumbs. Mix with melted butter until combined. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a large trifle bowl or clear glass dish.

  2. Make the Lemon Pudding – In a medium bowl, whisk together lemon pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Set aside.

  3. Cream Cheese Layer – In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in one container of whipped topping to create a creamy layer.

  4. Assemble the Trifle – Layer half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookie crust. Add half of the lemon pudding, followed by a layer of whipped topping. Repeat the layers: cookie crumbs, cream cheese filling, lemon pudding, and finish with whipped topping.

  5. Chill and Garnish – Refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours before serving to allow the flavors to set. Garnish with lemon zest, slices, or fresh berries for a beautiful presentation.
