Cystitis is a bacterial infection of the urinary tract. It is more common in women; approximately 20% of women experience at least one episode of cystitis during their lifetime.
The reason this disease is more common in women than in men is that they have a shorter urethra, which allows bacteria to travel a shorter distance from the skin.
- Chills.
- General malaise of the whole body.
- Fever.
- Sharp, stabbing abdominal pain.
- Burning or stinging when urinating.
- Very frequent urination.
