Trump Administration Claims ‘Most Secure Border in U.S. History’ as Illegal Crossings Drop Sharply
The Trump administration is touting what it describes as the “most secure border in American history,” following a dramatic decline in illegal border crossings and major gains in immigration enforcement, according to a year-end report released by the Department of Homeland Security.
The report states that illegal border crossings fell by 93% year-over-year, while fentanyl trafficking was reduced by nearly 50%. In addition, hundreds of thousands of criminal illegal immigrants were either arrested or deported during the reporting period.
