Big Moon Days: A Rapid Metabolism?
Weak or absent moons can be a natural phenomenon and don’t necessarily indicate a health problem. However, in some cases, they may be related to poor circulation, low blood pressure, or nutritional deficiencies, particularly iron or vitamin B12, two minerals essential for red blood cell production and cellular energy. These symptoms should be evaluated comprehensively, along with other symptoms such as fatigue, to determine whether they truly reflect a slow metabolism or a subclinical problem.
Absence of lunulae: Is there any cause for concern?
The absence of visible lunulae on the nails is usually normal, especially in children or those with narrow nails. If this occurs, it’s not a cause for concern. However, if the lunula appears darker than usual, a medical consultation may be necessary, as this could indicate circulatory problems, nutritional deficiencies (especially vitamin B12), or hormonal problems such as hypothyroidism. A clinical evaluation is necessary to determine the cause.
