Disney’s Grey Stuff

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cookies: Prepare and bake the sugar cookie dough as directed on the package. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before topping.

  2. Prepare the Pudding Base: In a medium bowl, vigorously whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with the cold milk for 2 minutes until smooth and beginning to thicken. Immediately cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes, or until set.

  3. Create the Grey Stuff: Remove the chilled pudding from the refrigerator. Using a spatula, fold the finely crushed Oreo crumbs into the pudding until fully incorporated and no dry pockets remain.

  4. Fold in Whipped Topping: Add the thawed Cool Whip and unsweetened cocoa powder to the bowl. Gently fold everything together until the mixture is uniform in color and smooth. Be careful not to overmix and deflate the mixture.

  5. Pipe and Garnish: Scoop the Grey Stuff into a piping bag fitted with a star or round tip. Pipe a generous swirl onto each cooled sugar cookie. Garnish immediately with edible pearls or sprinkles.

  6. Serve: Serve immediately for the best texture. Enjoy!

Chef’s Notes

  • For Best Results: Ensure your cookies are completely cool before piping on the Grey Stuff to prevent it from melting.

  • Make-Ahead: The Grey Stuff mixture can be made up to a day in advance and kept covered in the refrigerator. Give it a quick stir before piping.

  • Texture Tip: For the finest, smoothest consistency, pulse the Oreos in a food processor until they become a superfine crumb.
