Instructions:

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Make the Cinnamon Spread: In a medium bowl, beat the room-temperature butter until it’s smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Add the sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until everything is thoroughly combined into a spreadable paste.

  3. Assemble the Toast: Lay the bread slices on your work surface. Using a spatula or butter knife, generously spread the cinnamon butter mixture over one side of each slice. Be sure to cover the entire surface, all the way to the edges, for the best results.

  4. Bake: Arrange the prepared bread slices on the parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to crisp.

  5. Broil (Optional for Extra Crispness): For a caramelized, crispy top, carefully switch the oven to the broiler setting. Broil for 30-60 seconds, watching closely to prevent burning, until the tops are bubbly and golden.

  6. Serve: Remove the baking sheets from the oven. Let the toast cool for a minute before slicing each piece diagonally. Serve immediately and enjoy while warm!
