- Preheat Oven Set to 350°F (175°C). No need to grease your baking pans.
- Make the Dough Cream butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add to dough with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and walnuts.
- Bake Drop large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans. Bake for 10 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.

- For extra gooey centers, slightly underbake and let cool on the pan.
- Swap walnuts for pecans or omit for nut-free cookies.
- Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet-salty twist.
