A Consistent Presence During Television’s Most Influential Decades

Born Linda Evenstad on November 18, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, Evans grew up in a Norwegian-American family before relocating to North Hollywood, California, as a child. She began acting after encouragement from classmates and went on to study drama. Prior to her television success, she appeared in guest roles on several series during the early 1960s. Over the course of her career, Evans also appeared in television films and limited theatrical releases, but her work in long-running television series remained her primary professional focus.
