What is carding?
This practice is all the more dangerous because it operates in the shadows: fraudsters favor discreet micro-transactions , often undetectable at first glance. As a result, many users discover the scam far too late, after their bank account has already been affected.
And the figures confirm the scale of the phenomenon: in the first half of 2024, more than €633 million was stolen through card fraud in the European Union, including €211 million in France alone . More than 269 million bank card details were exposed or resold on the dark web that same year.
