Many food safety experts are concerned about the quality of Chinese chicken because China is a country where avian flu and foodborne illnesses are common. Furthermore, China produces more pesticides than any other country in the world and is polluted not only by pesticides but also by mass production and industry.

8. Mud (sold as black pepper):
A vendor in China collected mud and sold it as black pepper, and also took flour and sold it as white pepper. Call it what you want and sell it! The Chinese don’t have much control over their food safety and regulatory systems. Not that they’re always good—just look at France! We have standards, but very weak ones at best.
9. Industrial salt:
Industrial salt is unfit for human consumption, yet it was sold as table salt for 13 years! Industrial salt can cause mental and physical problems, hypothyroidism, and reproductive system disorders.

These fake peas were created using snow peas, soybeans, green dye, and sodium metabisulfite (a chemical used as a bleaching and preservative). This dye is banned because it can cause cancer and inhibit the body’s natural ability to absorb calcium. These peas also don’t soften when boiled, and the water turns an unnatural green color. So, avoid peas from China.

As I mentioned, China produces more pesticides than any other country in the world, which means your food is more likely to be contaminated with them. It’s one of the most polluted regions in the world. 70% of the rivers are polluted, the air is toxic, and simply producing food there leaves behind a lot of toxic chemicals and byproducts like waste that end up in the environment.
